Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and Hoofade, the company that operates hoofade.com. "Hoofade", "we", and "us" mean the same thing here. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them and to the privacy policy. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and able to hold a brokerage account in your own name. Hoofade is not directed to minors.

The service

Hoofade connects to your brokerage account read-only and renders your trading activity as a private feed and portfolio view, with the option to publish a redacted public profile. Hoofade is in early access: features may change, and access is currently invite-only. We may change or discontinue the service; if we shut it down, we will give signed-in users reasonable notice so you can ask for a copy of your data first.

Pricing

The service is free during early access. If we introduce paid plans, we will post pricing first and will not charge you without your agreement.

Your account

• You must provide a valid email address; sign-in is by email link. You are responsible for keeping your email account secure.
• One person per account. Don't impersonate others or claim handles in bad faith.
• You may stop using the service at any time and request deletion of your account as described in the privacy policy.

Brokerage connections

• You authorize Hoofade to retrieve your brokerage data read-only, through SnapTrade or an Interactive Brokers Flex token you create. Hoofade cannot place orders or move money.
• You are responsible for connecting only accounts you are authorized to access.
• Brokerage and aggregator availability is outside our control; data can lag or be temporarily unavailable.

Not financial advice

Nothing on Hoofade is investment, financial, legal, or tax advice. Hoofade is not a brokerage, investment dealer, or investment adviser, and is not registered with any securities regulator. Public profiles show what a trader did, not what you should do. Figures are derived from broker-reported data and third-party market data and may contain errors or delays. Do your own research.

Your content and publishing

• Your brokerage data remains yours. Private by default; nothing is published without your explicit action.
• When you publish a profile or mint a share link, you grant Hoofade the right to host, process, and display that content (including your handle, display name, and avatar), and to generate preview images for link sharing, with the redactions you selected, until you unpublish or revoke it.
• Share links are capability URLs: anyone holding the link can view the shared snapshot. Treat them accordingly.

Acceptable use

• No attempts to access other users' non-public data.
• No scraping, probing, or load-testing the service without permission.
• No use of the service to violate your brokerage's terms or applicable law.

Availability and warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that displayed figures are accurate or complete.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hoofade and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any trading losses, arising from your use of the service. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the greater of CAD $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some laws, including consumer protection laws in some provinces, do not allow some of these exclusions or limits. Where that is the case, they apply only to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Indemnification

If your breach of these terms, or content you publish, causes a third-party claim against Hoofade, you agree to cover the resulting costs and damages. This does not apply where the claim results from our own breach of these terms.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or put the service or other users at risk. You may stop using the service at any time and request deletion of your account as described in the privacy policy.

Changes, governing law, and disputes

We may update these terms at any time; the date above reflects the latest revision, and material changes will be announced to signed-in users before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If you don't agree with a change, stop using the service and request deletion of your account. These terms are governed by applicable law, except where the consumer protection law of your home province or country gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.

General

If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms and the privacy policy are the entire agreement between us about the service. We may assign these terms as part of a sale or reorganization of the service; you may not assign them. If we do not enforce a part of these terms, we can still enforce it later.
